Roosters not cooperating

My roosters are three years old, and I have repeatedly seen them trying to mate with the hens, but I still do not have any fertilized eggs. Why is this?

What breed do you have ? Are the hens larger than the roosters ? Excessively feathered birds sometimes require feather plucking around their vents so that the roosters can make contact.

They are cochins. They are bigger that all of the hens.
