Roosters or Hens? Newbie needs help.

Hi!

I'm posting on behalf of my mom who got six orpington chickens about a month and a half ago. No one in the family have much experience with hens but I've done some research and unfortunately I'm suspecting four of the chickens are roosters. Could you help me shed some light on the matter?

Here are some pics for you.




We're 99.9% sure the black and the yellow one are roosters but a confirmation would be welcome.



This is one we're unsure of. It looks to me like he/she has saddle feathers?



This oddly colored chicken is the other one we're unsure of. Her/his feathering seems a little bit odd to me.



And lastly these are the ones we're pretty sure are hens.

Any helpful opinions?

How old are them? The yellow one is a roo, the black one might be a rooster. If not you should see eggs soon (given she's 4months old +)

you're prob right. its hard to tell from pictures but an easy way to tell if its a rooster, if its tail feathers are starting to look a bit curled and the neck feathers are pointed

The lady my mom bought the chickens from said they would start laying eggs late summer but I don't think my mom asked how old they were so I'm not sure.

I would wait a bit to tell sexes for sure. Looks like you have a lot of Roos, but any round tailed birds are harder to sex since they have round shiny feathers either way
