Hello All,
I have a Roo with a bubbly looking eye. It seems like he can see however, the white part is all bubbly and red looking. I have cleaned his eye with warm water but I'm not sure what else to do for him..Please help!

It appears that he has been pecked a lot. Did you notice his eye problem before the pecking, or is the pecking the cause of his eye problem? He has severe conjunctivitis (pink eye,) but there could be a possibility of a tumor, a sinus infection, or injury causing the swelling. Does he act sick, lethargic, have rattly breathing, sneeze or nasal drainage?

Until you know what is going on, I would place him in a dog crate with food and water, but leave him with his flock for comfort. Clean his eye with saline, and get some Terramycin Eye Ointment at your lcoal feed store, and apply it 2 times a day.

No his Eye wasnt like that at the beginning of the week...I noticed it yesterday Morning ( Tuesday) when I opened up the coop to let him out. His Brother..and Him had a Rooster fright the day before.(Monday) .However, when it was over and I cleaned them both up..Both of Their eyes were fine...No abnormal Bubbles like He has now.

He Appears to be acting Normal..He is eating And drinking As usual. I have noticed an abnormal breathing..as I have been checking on him ever 15 to 20 mins. I will get some ointment..Thank you for your Advice!

It sounds like this may have been trauma from the fight. But if the swelling doesn’t go down in a few days, or if he seems to be having symptoms of a respiratory infection, I would then get him started on some Tylan50 or see a vet.
