Ok when I bought these pullets one turned out to be a rooster. Of course it was the white polish which is my favorite. So any advice on keeping him docile? Someone said ignore him. I was doing the opposite lol.

I keep a pet rooster inside with me. I spend almost 24/7 with him so I have way more experience with roosters than I ever wanted. As Saundra said, the more time you spend with him, the more he will like you...to an extent. I've had outdoor roosters that I raised from a baby and treated well but one day seemingly out of nowhere they turn very mean. If you dont care about holding him and just want him to not attack you, you may need to show him you are the boss. Interpret that how you like, but you need to be in control out there. Some roosters are naturally friendly so you might get lucky. Just don't let him think its ok to attack you or you'll be unhappy every time you go out there.

If you have specific questions I can try to answer them. Going on about 3 years with my pet rooster.

I agree with the above post. Roosters are a crap shoot, and they are always the darling as chicks. "People get attached to them, and just wish they would be like that forever." AND that is the problem.

They might stay nice, and they might not, it is a crap shoot. Decide and have a plan what to do if they don't stay nice. That is being responsible. It has to be more of a plan than just wishing they would be nice. My plan is to have a way to catch him, (a 5 foot handled fish net works well) and a place to confine him until I can do something else with him.

I know you are hoping that training can help, but if you read on here, I have read a lot of training advice, completely opposite of each other, when I came to the conclusion, people think that this worked or that worked, but really they just got lucky.
