I know this is a dumb question but here goes anyway. How old does a young rooster have to be to be servicing?

Well they do have very small brains. I'm sure he will get with the program - just needs a little more time and keep talking to him but you need to whisper.

Depends on the individual bird as well as the breed; some develop very quickly and will start doing their duty early on while other mature slowly and don't get around to servicing their ladies for a bit. Usually somewhere between 5-8 months of age.
