Roosting ideas?

I have a 15' by 8' run for my girls with a roof on the top, would it be a good idea to put branch like roosts out side for them to be able to sit on if they so choose in the run????

If you do,they may try to roost at night there.But...you could try and see.If they don't go in...take 'em away.

Ok sounds good, you know your chicks!!!! I am still new to the whole chicken thing, i have wanted them for 2 yrs now and my husband finally said ok one day. Thanks for all the help!

I put pieces of plywood at the end of each perch, just big enough to keep raccoons from reaching in to grab take out chicken. Mostly the older birds have enough sense to go in, it's the young ones laying up against the wire that are in the most danger. I started using welded wire outside the run, then chicken wire on the inside of the 2x4 . Seems to work well.
