Roosting

Hello,
I have six chicks about 3-4 weeks old. I am about to put them in a coop and was wondering what to set up for them to roost on. How old does a chick/chicken get before it would want to roost up off the floor? Thanks!!

maybe you should try a foot off the ground depending on what type of roost you had. When i had my chickens they started roosting on the brooder cardboard walls at 3 weeks old so it just depends on if they can reach the roost.
