how would you suggest changing where my chickens roost?

Move them to the new place and lock them in for a couple of days until they learn that is their new home. ;o)

i would do that but these are completly loose chickens

I had a group of chickens that I let stay loose they nest high in the tree. I tryed to pen them up but every night I would have to round them up and put them in the pen .I would have to climb the tree and drag them down. I got smart and I wouldnt feed them when I let them out to free range . I would feed them in the pen and they would all run in to eat and I shut the door. After a while they went in on there own.
