Roosts, Only

I am curious to know if anyone here does something similar....

I have enclosures where we re-use old dog houses for their nesting needs, but often times they want to roost on top of them, or inside where they soil the nesting area.

I have used some bamboo in our yard to create a roost between 2 posts, away from the houses, but how does one build a comfortable roost for their chooks?

This subject has many opinions. I personally offer a 2x4 with the "2" side up, partially doubled offering a 3 inch section. On their other roost I used a branch from a tree I didn't care for about 2.5 inches in diameter.

Many use 2x4s with the "4" side up, but I feel as though my birds prefer something slightly round, and they typically roost at the highest point they can find.
