rose bush eaters

My chickens are eating my rose bushes.anything I can put on or around my roses to deter chickens but not hurt them or roses? Thanks for any help!

Fencing or bird netting may help...

I feed all of the rose bush trimmings to my flock. The leaves and the spent rose blossoms. The branches, because they have all the thorns, I burn them. But mine love to eat the trimmings I give them. They also don't bother the rose bushes growing around the property.
