Ross breed

Hi everyone. can u guys help me understand this; i buy and raise Ross and or Cobb breed for 6 weeks. my question is, is it possible to raise them to the point where they can reproduce or i just hav to buy the parent for reproduction. the thing is i want to start reproducing for myself because the hatcheries are very far from where i leave.

Not sure, but I'm guessing your Ross or Cobb are meat breeds? If they are anything like the cornish rock cross meaties we have in the USA, the answer is no. Very few would make it to the age where they could reproduce. Of those few that do, I know if you breed two cornish rocks crosses, the offspring does not grow like the parents. I have crossed cornish rock crosses to buff orpingtons and black sexlinks and gotten offspring that grew fairly quick and was bigger than the other breed but didn't have the health issues of the cornish rock crosses. This might be what would work for you, and it might not be. Hope this helps you some.
