I've Moved the Bantam Black Rooster to Private Run, & put 5 month old Pullets & Cockerel in with MAIN Flock.. . Cockerel is hiding with Pullets & advoiding established Hens, Roster is NOT in same run. Now I've
discovered Broodie Hen Is Hatching ( 3 Chicks N O W ) The Only place I can Put Her is where Roster is Now....

The Boys have seen each other through side by side runs over 2 months now... Is it safe to put Roster in with Cockerel Main run.... How how how..........

is it Safe to put Boys Together Tonight, ? then I can Moove Moma hen & babies .

the cockerel is hiding with the pullets because you just put them with the main flock... he isn't just going to start being a rooster because he is in with older hens... that takes time... you can put the rooster back with the main flock... did you take him out because of the pullets and cockerel...?

Yes, you can, but expect some fighting. Have they been able to interact at all?

Not been Interacting in a few days, they're @ opposite end of Yard. . . They each had own Flock . the cockerel - Pullets, . were raised together since 3 days old and Rooster as always had his flock.

o what a mess this is..........

it's not really a mess... they should be fine... some squabbling but they will work it out

Maybe I'm Overreacting, It's so easy to get Attached to special ones....... the Black ones Tame & likes to be held, the Cockerels an NN & should make great babies.....

Ever thing I've read or head say NOT to put roosters in together ......

I have one rooster, one 7-month old cockerel and about ten 10-week-old cockerels together right now. I only just got that rooster, and at the time there was also another rooster and another 7-month-old cockerel. I got rid of the last two because they were tearing everyone up, the rooster because he was so big and the other because his hormones were just insane, he would even mount the boys and he was just a trouble maker. Anyway, when I got the new rooster I had the others still for and there was some fighting and yes a little bit of blood shed at first when I put them together and it took about three days for them to work it out but they did. I keep everyone in my run (750 sq ft) when I am at work but for those first couple days I would kick out the extra roosters (into the yard) so the new one could settle in and meet the girls without the boys trying to beat him up. Then they would all free range when my husband would get home.

The main things are for them to have enough space that the weaker/lower ranking one can get away and enough females so they aren't fighting over them or over-mating.
