Spent a bit too much of these goons and they escaped the first morning. I've managed to locate them 4 times over the last two day and found their nest. Last night I found them roosting under some Christmas trees and used a make shift net to perpetuate failure. Today I'm armed with a real net and on the hunt. How the heck do I catch these two hooligans?? I don't know where they sleep but the are not roosting in the forest or in trees (LUCKILY)! I'm a one man search catch and no release. Help!

I've found a net will work only if you can get them into a spot that will slow them down like the side of a building. Tough to do alone - they will keep you running around in circles. Pool noodles do work for me to move the flock, but not as well with just a few.

I caught one!! I was hoping to snag the female but I'm not going to complain. The female is up in a tree calling like crazy. The male is in the coop and calling some but my neighbor is mowing and I'm sure it's drowning it out

I'm guessing that the female will eventually come back to the coop where the male is. They are very flock oriented and don't like to hang out by themselves. Did you just get the guineas? If so, it takes them awhile to figure out where their new home is. I would lock them up in a coop for at least 3-4 weeks. After that, they should return to the coop each night to roost.

Went for a drive and came home to the female on top of the coop!!! I'm exhausted! Been hunting these idiots for 3 days. One night in the woods til midnight. I'm tickled to death!

Yes I happened upon them Saturday evening and Sunday morning they had escaped! I've got 6 pearl females and 3 males and I really wanted some variation. They are going to stay in for a while for sure. I've got my pearls cooped in two separate groups and no one strays far, I'm guessing since half is pinned in. Can I do this to my new two? I don't know if they are bonded or much about them except she's laying

I'd crack an egg open and see if they're fertile. If good let her lay a clutch and see if she goes broody. You can add eggs from another hen to speed things up (they like to accumulate about 40 eggs before they sit). If she successfully hatches some keets she should be good to range when they are big enough to let out.
They will be worth the work.
