Hi...I am pretty new to raising chickens so please bare with me...All of mine are bantams..have 3 adults (not sure breeds) and then 3 silkies that are about 3-4 months old. Yesterday, I noticed roundworms in one of the adult hens poop...What do I do? I have not seen in any of the others but plan to treat them all. Also, I need it to be safe for the little ones. I have read on here before I posted but there are so many different ways to treat. I really would rather not treat in their water in fear of them not drinking it. Please help....Thanks!!

you can use Ivermectin pour on, for cattle, it can be put on the back of the neck like flea drops for cats or dogs. your birds are small so maybe 1drop per bird for 2 days. some repeat in 10 days....no egg toss required

Thanks....I called the feed store and they recommended wazine??? Not sure what to do???

I dont recommend ivermectin pour on nor wazine. I recommend safeguard liquid goat wormer or valbazen liquid cattle/sheep wormer.
Dose your bantams 1/4cc and dose your silkies 1/8cc orally with either product. Redose again in 10 days. There's a 14 day egg withdrawal after last dosing.

Well, I did the wazine and didnt come back to see Dawgs response till now... :(
I shouldnt have even messed with the wazine.. but since I did, what should I use next the safeguard or the valbazen? And should I do it on day 10? Or does that even matter?
Also, I live in North Texas (30 min northwest of Ft Worth), what should my deworming schedule be like? Also, are there any other vaccines I need to give my chickens?
Last thing, if my dog and chickens share a backyard (not at the same time) should I gie the dog a dewormer as well?

Thanks!
