My wife and I started to double the size of our chickens run today. Should be finished by the end of the week. Our current run is 8x16 and we are doubling the size of it. We only have 5 RIR but we are looking at getting around 5 - 7 more chickens. Our coop is 8x8 and I feel there is plenty of room in there for them, or at least I feel there is. Today we also let our girls free range for the first time since we were outside at the coop all afternoon. I think they enjoyed being out of the run. It was easy to get them back in, just grabbed the container of meal worms (their favorite treat) gave it a little shake and they came a running!
