run floor?

What works well for you guys for a good run flooring. I live near Chicago for reference

I like deep litter kind of stuff. So toss in all of the chemical free leaves etc all of the chemical free grass clippings...

Etc.

But it depends on if your run has good drainage or not.... as to what will work best.

Poop boards catch most of the poop. The floor is just plywood covered with pine shavings. A bit of PDZ spills in the shavings when I scoop the boards. Dry as can be. I had planned to put down linoleum. But it seems I don't need it. I replace the shavings every 6 months. Although I suspect I could do it less frequently.

Edit. I just re-read your question. Our run gets the old shavings from the coop. Cut grass, leaves, yard waste. It is becoming DLM.

My runs have semi-deep litter, never clean anything out, just add smaller dry materials on occasion, add larger wood chippings as needed.
Aged ramial wood chippings are best IMO.
