hi i recently got a 10kg of marrages pellets with wormer in for 6 large fowl and 5 bantams. i thort it would easily be enough the to last the week but its only lasted to day 5. we have rats in the garden and have bait down in a bait station to try and get rid of the horribe scavengers so i assume they have been eating the pellets for the hens as well. will the wormer will have worked. it says give them for 7 days but if i re order another it wont get here till tues nxt week. not happy about it but nothing i can do what do you guys think thanks x

Sorry about that, sounds like you are taking care of things, hate rats. On the pellets, a treatment regiment need all days prescribed to be effective against the worms you are trying to eradicate. Stoping short won't be the end of the world, but you will likely see them either back or not gone in the first place. Also a partial treatment may provide an window for the worms to become resistant to the medication used. So all in all, not the best of circumstances for you nor your birds.

Be that as it may, one can only do the best you can. You can't foresee every condition that may befall you. Get rid of the rats, watch the chickens for reinfection and treat as prescribed. I would ask your supplier what thoughts they have on this, before using the same pellets for worms again.

Best to you and your birds,

RJ
