runaway chick?

hi everyone, yesterday morning I came out to let my chickens out to a horrible scene. 2 dead 2 missing. feathers of the 2 dead and 1 missing bird are everywhere, however no feathers from the 2nd missing bird. Im hoping it has just ran away and will come back but i am growing increasingly concerned. She is a very sensitive chick that will isolate and barely eat for a couple days if we have a decent t-storm. How long can it take for them to wander back home? when should i loose hope? thank you

sorry for the circumstances. Generally spooked/scared birds return in the evening or early the next morning. Good luck.

Sounds like coons. @#%$^&#^%&$ coons. So been there. I agree sour land, if they do not come back by the next morning, they are gone.

Note: if you have any of the flock remaining, the coons will come back! You need to address the coop weakness ASAP.

Sometimes this is a very hard hobby.
