Hi all,
I am new to owning runner ducks and have 6 straight-run 6 week old's.
They are currently in a fairly large coop I built, but we are in the process of building a 10x20 fenced run for the ducks. The coop will be going in there as shelter. I am just wondering what people have used for flooring/bedding in their duck runs? I have read gravel/rock is best for drainage, especially since we are building the ducks a pool. We have a couple loads of gravel, but are wondering if anyone has opinions on laying Geotextiles down underneath the gravel?

Thanks in advance for all your expertise! :)

I have no experience with geotextiles and i barely understand what it is, and since no one else has replied yet I'm gonna do my best to help.. :fl

Ive personally never used gravel, but it looks great. I wish my run was gravel! Might actually change it soon, because as guessed dirt just gets.. muddy. No matter what you can never seem to keep the dirt dry, and grass doesn't hold long- turns quickly into plain dirt, which quickly turns into mud.

So, I really think gravel/rocks would be the best to keep the smell out and the wetness away! Well, sort of atleast

My duck run has a ton of grass and it's been great. I wonder why some of us have issues and others don't...
