Runner Duck Question

Are any runner ducks more likely to have blue eggs than other colors? Or is it more of a luck of the draw situation? My Sister in Law is trying to find a duck that adds to her colorful rainbow!

So it pretty much is luck of the draw. The chocolate are just slightly more likely to lay blue eggs. Fawn and white runners are the least likely. It is rare, but it is also possible for runners to lay black eggs. I only have 3 and one lays white, one lays green, and the last one is a mystery right now. I think it lays green too. If she gets more than one she will likely get one that lays colorful eggs.

Just to give you an idea on how luck of the draw things can be. I have a Pekin that lays greenish eggs and a swedish that lays black eggs. Both of those are rare. One of my Cayugas (breed known for laying black eggs) lays white eggs.

Metzer is trying to create a duck that will lay 100% blue or green eggs. But it has been hard to create a duck like that.

All my Runners but my Fawn and White lay blue eggs. their colors are black, blue and silver Runners. Not sure if this is the norm for these colors but it is for mine.
