good day! i have 10 9 week old runner ducks. I fell in love with this breed at the state fair. they looked so adorable an goofy!

They are all female and hope to sell/use their eggs. I hear they are great for using in baking recipes.

I have a question, how do you collect the eggs from the runner ducks? we have chickens in the pen with the ducks and are worried that the chickens might and/or step on the eggs/ crush them. we were thinking about making a little box for them on the ground. we cant move them because the other barn space is occupied(we are getting goats and the rest is supposed to be for cattle). Any thoughts?

Duck eggs won't break from chickens walking on if enough calcium given to layers. duck eggs all around much tougher than chickens eggs.
