Runners Swimming??

Do runners swim?

Yes. Mine love their pond. But they probably spend more time out of it than in.

My runners LOVE the pool or any place that is deep...... lol. Mine will even swim under water when excited. Usually when they first get in a nice clean pool. I love my ducks. I just hatched out 12 and they are just so cute. It does fasinate me how fast the grow. I just sold 5 male runners that were born Jan. 7th. they looked like the adults. Just amazing.

So they can swim deep, i dont have to get them a kiddy pool.

Yes! My three runners love swimming in our pond during the day. They are a lot of fun to watch, wish I could join them, that would be even better.

Yep, they swim. They don't spend nearly as much time in their pool as they used to, but if it is clean, the get up in the morning, take a quick drink, quick bite to eat, hop in the pool for a bath and then about their day and often you can find them just floating around. After day 2, then it is usually just quick dips until the water is changed again.

Ok cause i want to put a pond in my mallard pen and eventually move the runners with them and a friend told me that they would drown to i thought i would ask. Thanks for the help.

The only ducks I have ever heard of drowning were ducklings who were left in the water too long.
