We're new to chicken-rearing and have 10 3 week olds: 5 Silver Laced Wyandottes and 5 Australorps. The 'lorps seem to be doing fine---they're pretty big already, and they're feathering out nicely. Three of my SLWs seem runty, though, and slower to feather out. I split them into 2 brooders, thinking that perhaps the little guys weren't getting to the grub as easily as their bigger sisters, but I haven't seen much improvement. Also, the smaller ones seem to be balding.
Any advice?
