Rusty shoulders is always a rooster...right?

I got some chicks in early August. And I am doing the guessing game, I think I got 4 pullets and a rooster.... any way one of them, all kind of mutts, is mostly white with rusty shoulders...

All these years, and I am still guessing.

You can't/couldn't tell from the comb color at 6-8 weeks?

That usually is a definite characteristic, but paired with red comb and wattles is a dead giveaway.

No, red shoulders is not always a dead giveaway. In EEs, it's more likely, but there are some pullets that can get that rusty coloring.
