Sad day on the Funny Farm....FOX

[chickens really]

Today was horrid....My own fault..I got careless...I free ranged my Birds with the Dogs locked up....
Fox came and first my Ducks were scared...Silently hid...My Husband saw them hide...He never told me....
Fox must of first tried to catch my Call Drake?....Then my Chickens started screaming..I had 6 Chicks with a Broody Hen...The Fox killed Two Chicks...My tiny Yorkie that is trained to wrangle Birds attacked the Fox as it ran past us with a chick in its mouth...I almost fainted...lol
I found the other Chick dead on the ground and I think the Fox planned to come back for it....
Sadly the man next door knows of the Fox because they Den on his property..
Finally my Husband is going over this weekend to shoot/ snare the Fox...
My Call drake was found by my loyal dog Bindi..She actually was herding him back home..He flew away into the Bush...Bindi was bumping him with her head to get him to come back home...Good Girl.....

So sad I wish my dog herded my birds but he's a huge puppy and thinks they want to pay and they are terrified of dogs.

It was so sad.....The one little Chick was still alive but died in my hands...At least it died with me comforting it...
My Husband will be going next door to the Den and kill them all on the weekend...So sad because the Chicks were out playing and having so much fun....RIP little ones.....
