Sad day, why is it so hard...

Good morning! I'm just checking in on you and your family. I hope today is a better day.

gumpsgirl, Thank you, that is SO sweet of you. I know it will get easier, but it is a strange feeling not having her by my side. She would follow me everywhere. Even sitting outside the bathroom door! Normally she would be laying next to my chair right now, and she would be snoring!

Today is a better day. She is no longer in misery and I have wonderful memories to get me through. Now, if this lump in my throat would just go away.........

My moms dog was the same way. She felt so lost with out her. She would always turn around thinking her dog would be there and she wouldn't be. It took her 3 months to finally go and get another dog, but as soon as she got one, it was almost like she had closure. I don't know if that makes any sense at all, but it did help. It also helped my dad who had his dog for fourteen years.

When you think you can muster up the emotional and mental strength, go get you another companion! You'll be so busy with your new found friend, that it will help with the loneliness of Abby being gone. It truly does help!

When you get a little of the lump in your throat gone, go either to PetFinder.com or to your local pound/shelter. There will be someone there waiting for you!
