So it's been a really bad month I lost 8 chickens, my baby chicken little is gone , so few days ago I came home from work and I noticed that it was really quiet BK there so I grabbed my binoculars and what I saw in as devistating so I ran out BK to the coop, there was one dead one on ground and 3 standing at fence so I tried calling the others no response so I go in and open main door nothing gone just gone,and I did not know what happened there were barley any feathers on the ground they we're just gone,so the next day I kept the 3 left inside the coop till we could figure out what took the birds,so that night I heard some kinda of cry I went outside and saw a big black animal I mean it was big,so my husband came out with shot gun and we thought we hit it but it was pitch dark over near the coop, so a couple days later I'm sitting on my BK porch it was around 5 in afternoon, so I got up to go put the 3 away I get there and one was missing so I checked the coop gone she was gone ,I lost it it was day light out I was sitting on porch And the thing took it with,so the next day we posted my husband my son and myself put side the thing comes BK know we're thinking it's a Fisher cat due to it's size very very big and the way the 8 chickens just disappeared, so it came BK it was a racoon a very very big giant racoon so my husband did shoot it ,but it took off ,so he hasn't been BK since , so we since vamped up the top of coop and working on the electric part of it, we are now looking for a seasoned rooster and 3 more hens to go with our 2, we did have 2 roosters but they were abusing the hens to point there BK feathers we're missing and crowns we're being ripped off. So now we have 2 he s who are very happy and are acting different since the rest have gone. As long as there happy, but I still need a seasoned rooster who know how to be around hens and is big with loud roo.
