sad day

today my son left not one but both doors open so the dog ended up killing three of our one week old chicks .my daughter was so upset my son felt so bad I think I will be moving them to my room and keeping the door lock

Oh no that's so sad, That's why I'm excited my neighbor is moving, her dog is known for killing small animals around our area I fear for my chickens lives. Not that he's a bad dog just thinks he's playing but a little too rough.

Locked doors are always safer.

Having said that, I found my cat sleeping on top of the brooder box under the heat lamp. The chicks were very, very quiet that night.
