Her loss will be heartbreaking -- my 15-year-old cat died in September. He was clearly fading for some time, and I still miss and remember him every day.

I am sure you will always remember Widget and all the joy she brought to your life. She's lucky to have spent her many years with you.

My oldest cat, Widget is on her last day. She's 20.5 and has been slowly fading for the last few weeks. 3 days ago, she barely ate anything, and as of yesterday, stopped eating and drinking entirely. She's on an old sweatshirt on my bed now. I'm making sure to pet her every time I walk by and make sure to walk by often. She'll be gone any time now.

That's all you can do....just make sure she knows she's loved! It's so hard to lose a pet.

Can quail get as old as chickens?

Some can live longer....just depends on environment, disease or the lack thereof and genetics. I've had other quail live 8 years.
