Sad passing, Blue Roo lost a lady tonight

Pretty Penny Bird, one of the original hens that was dropped off on my porch in box over year ago, that lead to my being a member of BYC, has passed away. She was Blue Roo's main lady and wasn't feeling well this morning, just didn't do her usual patrol of the bushes nothing really different. But she passed away tonight and Blue Roo is sitting on his usual perch with Big Sis, Little Sis is broody with the duck. Blue isn't sleeping though, he keeps looking for Penny to hop up and tuck in next to him. I'll miss my pretty Barred girl, so will Blue and her little family.

Thanks, I just feel so bad watching Blue waiting up for her. He's hopped down a couple of times and wandered around the yard in the dark looking for her.

We lost one last week for no apparent reason... and it was only 20 weeks old.

Blue and Big Sissy are sticking close to Little Sissy on her nest this morning. This is where I really wish I spoke chicken so I could explain where she went. Thanks for your good wishes everyone.
