so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how sad and mad you are at massacre of your flock.I just got 5 pullets and 1 rooster.in march.raised them from chicks.very attachd already.they are so much more to us than chickens when my girls are done giving us eggs they will die of old age I LOVE MY GIRLS.

I would put hardware cloth no bigger then 1 inch square,( I even go smaller on the coop) over those windows. And screw it down don't use staples. Hope they don't come back.

So very sorry about your girls, I know how you feel, I've lost girls to a pack of dogs too. Definitely, get another gun. I carry a .38sp with me at all times when I'm out w/girls & a 20ga shotgun w/#3 buckshot. Do contact your local law enforcement & animal control & report the attack. As some others have said, they will be back, just be careful & vigilant. Glad you got 1 at least.

I would add washers under the screws, and screw it from the inside. I am so sorry for your loss. What you have described is indeed quite scary. I wonder if they would attack a toddler or young child.
