I am incubating 4 chicken eggs and when I recently candled them, two of the eggs had what look like saddle bag air cells. Is this ok? Are these two chicks going to be ok? I am pretty confused? Why did this happen in the first place????

Are they shipped eggs? Saddle cell eggs can hatch, its a 50/50. What day are you on?

They are shipped and they are on day 18 today. I am putting them in lock down this afternoon. Should I lay them in a specific way e.i. with the lower air cell side at the top???

Shipped eggs often result in saddle shaped air cells. Many people hatch saddle cell eggs upright. If one side is more drawn down than the other I'd lay that side face up if you lay them down.
