saddle-shaped air cells ??

Had 2 last week that hatched just fine, but

I might add that they were a carton hatch also.

I had some with loose air cells and one with a saddle air cell and they all hatched. I kept them in the carton and it worked out perfectly.

The one with the saddle air cell ended up hatching upside down and I had to help it after it zipped and couldn't get out after quite a long time but it's thriving now.

Well that brings up another subject.  I have another batch of eggs in another bator (shipped) and several of them have aircell that must be ruptured because it goes down on the side of the egg if you tilt it.  So far the chicks are developing ok.  Would it be best to stop turning them a bit early and set them upright in a carton?

Yes you are absolutely right. Do it straight away and turn them only on an angle of less than 45 degrees. Good luck!:cd
