Safe to eat?

I went to let the chickens out this morning and found one of my silver laced wyandotte hens dead in front of the feeder. I have no idea why...she wasn't sick at all. She could have choked while eating or she could have been in the middle of my two roosters while they were chasing each other (they are NOT getting along) and hit her head or something.

My question is - not knowing what time overnight she died and not knowing why she died, do you think it's safe to eat her?

Nope, I wouldn't. Even tho she didnt show any signs of illness.....doesnt mean she wasnt sick. In birds...they can go from acting "normal" to dead, in a very short time. Better safe than sorry!

I would never eat any animal thats death was in question.

Thanks, that's what we thought too. Such a bummer to be one pretty girl less, one egg a day less and nothing in the freezer to show for it.
