Keep breeds that are cold hardy like chanteclers and wyandottes. Chanteclers never get frost bite.

You’re welcome! Yes, don’t do heat lamps if you can help it, much more dangerous. Idk if my post was clear but the large radiant heater I referred to for very cold -30s is the oil filled type. They heat very well. But you do have to have a safe place up away from the bedding to put them, like a stand or something in the coop.Thank you so much! I like the radiant heater - something they can warm up by & still have the fresh air. I’ve done heat lamps but not really safe. I appreciate your help!
