I read a lot about it, but i was wondering, would it be okay if at day 18 of incubation, to make a safety hole in each egg? Would that help? Or be harmful? Or useless? Thanks.

OK, maybe someone that does this will reply. If you do not know I have hatched over 10,000 eggs in the last 3 or so years-----never a safety hole. I just make sure everything is right and being I am a hands-off-hatcher I leave them alone completely until the day after their due hatch date and I usually hatch 95 to 100% in my cabinet----not quiet that high on average in the Styrofoam's.I read a lot about it, but i was wondering, would it be okay if at day 18 of incubation, to make a safety hole in each egg? Yes, do what ever works for you----there is good hands on hatchers on here that can tell you when and what to do. If some pip and do not hatch----I just tell them through the glass that if they will hang in there Until day 22 I will help them hatch----then on day 22 if they have not hatched I break them out----most all are still alive and most all turn out fine. I might have 3 or 4 out of the bigger hatches that need help----hatches like 200 to 300 eggs. Because of bad luck opening years back---and no experience with "Helping" I do not open during the hatch anymore for Nothing---no reason would I open it. Works Great for me----you do what works Great for you!I have hatched only about 100 chicks so far but i have a problem i find very annoying, it happens rarely but still, after most have hatched i find one or two eggs who have pipped on the outside but it just stops there, and I don't see the eggs moving or the chicks in the eggs making any effort, so sometimes i hatch those eggs my self, and sometimes it works but sometimes i find the chick is already dead even tho he pipped and this bothers me a lot. Do you have any advice?
