noticed my 5 week old pullet was very lethargic this morning.....started dipping her feet, legs & lower body in cool water....layed her in front of the fan....put chick electrolytes in her water.....seperated her from the rest of the flock.....she has ate and drank several times today....she can only walk a couple of feet....the lethargy has not improved....I do not think she will be alive in the am....

i have 7 other salmon favs that are all okay....as is the rest of my flock....I have 3 waterers and a water system in the coop and 3 waterers and shade in the run....but it has been very hot and dry here.....

She was better on Monday and wanted in with the other chickens, so I let her....big mistake....yesterday morning she was stumbling in am and could not walk by afternoon. Back in isolation with more chick electrolytes, etc.....don't know what this morning will bring.

Its only been three days, probably not enough time...what is the temp outside now? You can also give her high energy foods, like eggs, mealworms etc....to give her a boost.

I do want to bring up another possiblity: a disease of some kind. ie: cocci or Mareks.
Bring her back in the A/C and give her a mirror and stuffed animal to help ease the lonelyness, and see what happens... I hope that helps.....LOL

Last night she could not stand...but could this morning and desperately wanted out of seclusion but kept her penned up today...this evening she is walking fine, eating, drinking....let her back in with the others...our temps have been high 90s to low hundreds....I think she might be a hypochondriac...just kidding.
