Those both look like pullets. Males have much darker feathering.I have two 16 day old Salmon Favorelles, hatchery stock . One has a good 1inch tail and the other has no tail at all. Does that mean anything as far as gender?
Thanks. I have never had this breed. They are supposed to be sexed as pullets I was just concerned about the different tailsThose both look like pullets. Males have much darker feathering.
ThanksProbably just differently maturing. However, we once had a chicken with no tail...it never developed! But, your chick is pretty young with a typical looking back end, so I think it’ll sprout tail feathers soon!
I can't wait till they grow up. ThanksThe difference in the tail wouldn't have anything to do with the sex of the bird. Due to the light salmon color coming in on the wings, they are both sexed correctly as pullets. Pretty soon you'll have two gorgeous, fluffy-faced girls.![]()
