Salmon Faverolle Roo

I have a 3 month old Salmon Faverolle rooster, he hasn’t crowed yet, isn’t interested in the females or anything. In fact he’s real chicken when it comes to them. Any idea when they reach sexual maturity?

Not till 6 months or so, hens won't give him time of day until he can dance, crow, or properly feed/worship them, and if you have an older flock he'll probably have to spend another few months fighting to the top to even be recognized as a potential suitor

I have a poor polish cockeral who's terrified of our broody he won't come within 30 ft XD ....in his defence she's a brutal little lady! Unfortunately her chicks adore him so hes constantly harassed

6 months or more. At three months his hormones aren't kicking in yet. Favorelles are also a slow growing breed thus slow to mature.

My salmon Faverolle cockerel will be 17 weeks on Monday. He is just starting to feel his oats. He is now calling the pullets over when he finds something good for them to eat. He is just beginning to try and show some dominance to me and DH. We've been making him move off and submit and each time he does. Things are starting to get interesting...

I have 2 salmon faverolles cockerels that are 18 weeks ( & 5 days ) old, and one of them crowed for the first time tonight... or at least I assume it was just one of them... I was working on something outside and just heard a few crows, but didn't go investigate.

Not to be out done, roo2 is sounding back at roo1 this morning.

Don't tell them I said this, but roo2 has the better crow so far... but I'm sure they'll be practicing non stop .... forever, until they both get it down pat
