So As of last year, around June I ordered 15 chicks, we lost a couple, including 3 out of 4 salmon faverolles, and the one who survived was a pullet/hen. She only had pasty butt as a chick, which was an easy fix, so now My question is "why does she have no beard or muffles?" We ordered her from McMurray hatchery, and she's a strong, healthy and rambunctious hen, she even chases are cats around the grass yard, but she has nothing on her face for feathers, has anyone else had this? And do you think if I were to hatch her eggs I would get chicks with beards or no beards?
Thank you for any reply, this is my first thread so let me know if I did this right 😅

Do you have a pic? Did she when she was a baby? And maybe plucked it?

We never noticed any pecking, her skin is very normal where there is no beard, just short little feathers, but possibly!

Just a hatchery quality Salmon Faverolles. It does not appear as if her beard has been plucked. Bred to a non bearded rooster her chicks would be non bearded. Bred to a muffed/bearded rooster they might be muffed/bearded.
