Salmon Favorelle question

At our fair this year i was looking at the competition

and i noticed that the salmon favorelles in our fair didnt have feathered legs and the female had 5 toes but the male did not...is it normal for roos to not have the extra toe? I am just curious as to why the male only has 4 and the female has 5...

Both sexes should have five toes and both should have feathered legs.

thats what i was thinking...so why does the rooster only have 4 toes?
