I’ve got 3 old hens (6year olds). It seemed only one of them has been laying over the past 9+ months. I had one who would go in and pretend, but no egg, she was an Americana - green egg layer. The other two are a RIR and a speckled Sussex. I thought it was just my RIR laying, but when I went to check for eggs, my RIR was away from the coop and I found a warm egg in a box. Not sure where the Sussex was. I then compared the eggs and they’re different colors.
