Stumbled upon raising chickens when a kindergarten class asked me to save the one that couldn't get out of its shell. took it home and it's doing great. i think i have an Easter Egger; not sure...Learning all I can from BYC!
PS: if anyone can tell whether we have a pullet or cockerel, I'm all ears

You could post on the "what breed or gender is this," Good photos of front of head and side view and age of chick will help them advise.
