Sand disposal

I want to clean out my chicken run sand. How do you all dispose of your used sand? Do I need to treat it for the smell??

Hi HJ22, My neighbor uses sand and boy it does stink to high heaven. She usually finds an out of the way spot and buries it, in a way this composts it. Eventually that which makes it smelly, the poo, breaks down. I suggest starting a new garden somewhere if you have a smaller yard and digging the sand in down deep. Let me know what you think.
