Sand Fleas? How to treat coop?

So we have got alot of rain so I decided after reading about sand for the coop floor. So underneath the roost I put a floor to catch the poo and utilize the space below for baby chicks after the brood box they could get used to the flock out side. So in the process of finishing and framing doors and stapling wire in I notice small little flea looking things crawling around in the sand. The good thing is there are no chicks in this area and I only put it in a small area, but im not sure how to get rid of these dang things.Any suggestions?

This is something to check on - diatomaceous-earth. It's safe for chickens and people. Good luck.

I sprayed it with frontline.That was a waist haha. I read vinegar and water.

I use sevin dust in my coop and both my dogs yard and the chicken yard.

diatomaceous earth will work. But remember that it needs to be dry to be effective. I have used it even against red ants and does great. Until it rains.
