Sand price???

Finally found a place to get sand for the run and coop. 3 ton for $100, delivered. Doesn't seem too bad. Is that a fair price???

Fair price, especially since it includes delivery.

A year ago we paid about the same ($100) for only 2 tons, delivered... in Wisconsin.

Good price. What kind of sand? I went with the coarse sand because I think it drains better and the girls can use it for grit.

It's from a quarry. It's a pretty fine sand. When the guy arrived with it he said "I figured you were putting in a pool, but I see you already have a pool". He asked what we were using it for, he said "if I knew that, I would have sold you 'screenings'. The sand is $24 a ton, but screenings are only $7.50 a ton. Anyone know what screenings are?
