Sandpaper feeling egg

Today i went out to collect eggs and one of the eggs almost had a fine sandpaper type feeling. This is the second egg this week that’s been odd. The first one have a very thin shell on it on saturday

Nope. I have 16% layer feed. It’s this whole thing that happened last week with a neighbor watching our chickens while we were away and i’m suspecting that he didn’t feed them enough and only have them scratch grains and mealworms for food. Because when we came home their feeder had half handful of moldy food and no water. So i’m guessing their system is off balance because of it
