Ok so we went out to eat and my husband wanted to get pants..so he (stupidly lol) brings me to tractor supply. I needed chick feed anyway..pigs. I check out the chicks and they had them gate paneled all the way around so no one could get to them. They all looked so cute but I resisted. I am talking with my hubby who tried on a pair..they looked mighty good on him I must say. All of a sudden I hear PEEP PEEP PEEP..the peeping when they find something awesome and run around, so of course I run over cause I wanna see. Then to my horror they are eating the leg of a chick and trying to drag it around the pen.. I tried with all my might to shoo them and reach partially in but couldnt.. I frantically grab the first employee and yell, " you gotta unlock these pens the chicks are eating another chick, you gotta help her please!" the lady was shocked but worked very quickly and grabbed her. She is missing a toe and her wing on that side is all bloody. I asked her if I could take her and she looked back at the records and found my name. Since I had already bought 6 she let me take her. I was so happy. My heart was going a mile a minute. I almost jumped the gates to get her lol. Anyway.. I divided my dog crate cause well I bought so many chicks I'm not out of heat lights lol. She was in a pullet pen but she is not the kind that was in there. At first she looked like a silky but then I noticed the feet. They have feathers. Dont know if silkies have furry feet. So my question is...
Brahm or silky?? She kinda has a silky bump on her head (hard to see in the picture) and is smaller than a normal size chick but not as small as a bantum. Help! Oh and should I wash her foot or just let it be? its all crusted over with blood and she is just pooped right now. I dont think it will need any tending as I got to her really fast. Here is a pic.
