So recently I've been saving baby chicks around my house and out all that I've saved 4 of them had made it throught but I've had a couple that had passed.

Recently I saved/found a baby chick (who possibly just made 1 week) on my door step and took it in and tried to help raise it. Today however, I had noticed when I came home from work my baby's energy had dropped alot. She is very limp and laying on one side.

I've been nervous for the past few hours because previously when I saved other baby chicks they showed the same symptoms before they have died hours before they have taken their last breath (I've actually had a couple chicks die in my hands as I tried to save them)

I was just curious on how & is it possible to help save them?

Do they have a heat lamp? How's their eating and drinking? How does her crop feel? Is she chirping? Where did you find them? How long have you had her?

Yes I have a heat lamp, I was at work but she wasn't eating when I came home, barely was chirping, she was found on my door steps, and 1 week. Sadly she did pass about 2 hours ago.

I'm so sorry. Was she laying down? I was thinking impacted crop. Was her vent clear? It could have been that too

Where do you live that you find baby chicks outside your house? Are there wild chickens having broods on their own?

I live in Hawaii surrounded by macadamia nut trees, this little one was on my door step and my brother was the one who saw her and I picked her and brought her into the house. They are wild chickens that are running around my house but as a animal lover I couldn't leave the chick on it's own.

Her vent was clear thats what I thought it was at first, but I only noticed how her energy changed from how she was yesterday to today it was like she just completely shut down. My grandma who I asked to watch her while I was at work said she wouldn't stop crying all day yesterday but today she was very quiet and they thought she was dead.

awe poor chicky sorry about that.

It's okay I just wish I caught it earlier and knew what to do, I couldn't tell if it was a stroke or if was the temperature or a illness that she had and I couldn't tell. I'm just glad I made some memories with her in her first week she was so small I feel like she was just a hatchling when I found her on my doorstep.
