I was driving last night and at 10:06pm and right in front of the direction I was driving was, what my initial thought was, a shooting star. It was bigger though. It started out like a big white blob of a fireball with a long tail. Then it turned green! I said wow out loud. That's when I thought 'This isn't a typical shooting star.' I was expecting it to disappear, but instead it turned blue and kept falling. I was in awe. Its a good thing there wasn't any on coming traffic, because I have no idea if I was in my lane. I'd never seen one turn colors before. The thought actually popped into my head wondering if it was a bomb or something because it was lasting so long. It was getting closer to the horizon and I thought for sure it would disappear, but it then turned orange, but not for very long. It quick turned whitish and was out of sight.
Whether it burned up or hit ground, I don't know. It was cool either way to have been able to see.
I Googled it this morning and I guess the upper Midwest had itself quite a meteor shower with several calls of sitings.
Anyone else see any last night?
I'm hoping someone had some safely land in their back yards. That would be cool!
